The University of Wisconsin-Parkside issued the following news release:

The Nonprofit Development program in the Center for Community Partnerships at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside presents a pair of workshops on capacity building for nonprofits. The sessions are Wednesday, Oct. 15, from 9-11:30 a.m. and Monday, Oct. 20, from 5:30-8 p.m. Attendance at one workshop is required for Kenosha and Racine county organizations seeking induction in the Capacity-Building Assistance for Nonprofits (CAN) program.

CAN provides support and services for faith-based and community organizations in the areas of leadership, organizational development, program and/or revenue development, and community collaboration. The program provides existing and emerging nonprofits with one-to-one technical assistance and opportunities to submit grant proposals for projects or activities that build organizational capacity.

The Oct. 15 and Oct. 20 workshops are held at Tallent Hall, 900 Wood Rd. in Kenosha and they are free. To attend either session, call Emily Bach at 262-595-2018 or access emily.bach@uwp.edu by email no later than Oct. 15, 2008.

Applications for nonprofits organizations wishing to join the CAN program may be requested now through Tuesday, Oct. 21 by contacting Bach at the phone number and/or email address shown above. Appointments for CAN induction interviews also can be made at this time.
