WAUNAKEE BRANCH OPENS MONDAY.(BUSINESS) - The Wisconsin State Journal (Madison, WI)

SUMMIT CREDIT UNION

Summit Credit Union will open its new Waunakee branch at 304 E. Main St. on Monday.

The 7,564-square-foot branch, designed by Linville Architects, features a traditional two-story storefront facade, an atrium lobby, drive-up window and a community room in a former bank building that was incorporated into the design. The branch has eight employees. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is planned for 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Through Jan. 31, Summit will donate $10 to the Waunakee Neighborhood Connection or the Waunakee Community Foundation for every checking account opened at the branch.

The branch also will be a collection point through Dec. 21 for donations to the Waunakee Neighborhood Connection. A full list of needed items can be found online at www.waunakeeneighborhoodconnection.com.

Thompson elected to board of directors Tommy Thompson has been elected to the board of Harmony Information Systems of Reston, Va., which provides information management software and consulting services for public and private health and human services organizations.

Thompson was Wisconsin governor from 1987 to 2001 and secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services from 2001 to 2005.

A partner in the Washington, D.C., law firm of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, he also is president of Logistics Health of La Crosse and independent chairman of the Deloitte Center for Health Solutions in Washington, D.C.

Racine publisher gets new position

Richard Johnston, publisher of The Journal Times in Racine, will become publisher of The Pantagraph in Bloomington, Ill., Lee Enterprises said Tuesday.

Johnston is Lee's longest-serving publisher, having led four newspapers over 22 years. Rick Parrish, advertising director at The Journal Times, will serve as interim publisher until a successor is appointed.

Lee owns half of Madison-based Capital Newspapers, publisher of the Wisconsin State Journal and The Capital Times.

Rayovac is donating $250,000 to the Salvation Army. The company also is selling specially marked packages of batteries with the Salvation Army's logo and red kettle as a reminder to shoppers to support the nonprofit organization. Rayovac, based in Madison, is part of Spectrum Brands, a consumer products company in Atlanta.

One Zero Charlie , a marketing, communications and design company that specializes in trademark and branding programs, has opened a Madison office at 8025 Excelsior Drive. Executive designer Liz Schaefer will lead the office. Based in Greenwood, Ill., northwest of Chicago, One Zero Charlie takes its name from the identifier code of Galt Airport, where the company has its main office.
